Re: Windows 10 upgrades can break boot loaders

There are attempts of safeguards but its not 100% reliable, but what happens when that fails shouldn't be a unbootable system but the upgrade process failing. In any case a damaged boot loader can be easily recovered with a windows 2 go drive that has a modern DC version installed, from it you only ...

Re: Bootloader backup?

For EFI boot yes, you can not EFI boot otherwise.
If your BIOS system supports legacy MBR boot than you don't need any extra partitions.

Re: Automount removable media if password same as disk C

Well for that DC's would need to remember the entered plain text password, that is not so great security wise.
As its now DC zeros's it at an early boot stage as soon as the system partition and other at that time present partitions get mounted.

Re: BIOS keyboard buffer

New DiskCryptor uses its own old bullet proof bootlaoder when installed on a MBR boot system,
and a new one that is based on Veracrypt's one when installed on a EFI boot system.

Whats so crappy about Veracrypt's one?

You see, VeraCrypt started of as a container encryption tool i.e. you used it to mount virtual encrypted dr...

Re: dcrypt_setup_1.2_beta_3_signed.exe infected with malware??

As far as I can tell this look to me as false positives, the signed build was signed by a nice guy: https://forum.diskcryptor.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&p=317#p317 here who's name you can find in the certificate. I have extracted the installer and uploaded all individual files to virus total and only one...

Re: Could not enter password

Oh.... that's not good, I'll try to remember to add some warning.
But it will be never perfect you can have directory junctions and etc.... so the warning may only catch the most obviuse cases.
